Ingredients:

  • 1 English cucumber, cut into matchsticks
  • ¼ cup gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)   
  • 1 bunch fresh spinach, cut into thin stripes
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 carrots, cut into matchsticks
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 pound thinly-sliced beef 
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • 4 teaspoons sesame oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seed

Method to Prepare:

  • Stir cucumber piece with ¼ cup of gochujang sauce in a bowl and set it aside and bring about 2 cups of water to boil in a nonstick skillet and add spinach into it.
  • Cook it until the spinach is wilted and drain and squeeze it out. Set it aside in a bowl and drizzle a little soy sauce on it.
  • Now, heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a large nonstick skillet and stir in carrots, cook it for about 3 minutes. Now, add garlic until it leaves a pleasant fragrance, about for 1 minute.
  • Add the cucumber with the gochujang paste and sprinkle red chili flakes. 
  • Cook beef in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes per side, and put it aside.
  • In a separate skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil and half-fry the egg carefully.
  • Take the traditional serving bowl and divide rice in each bowl and top it with spinach, a few pieces of beef, and cucumber mixture.
  • Carefully place the egg on top of every bowl and drizzle each bowl with sesame oil, a sprinkle of sesame seeds and serve it to your friends and family!

Japchae

One of the most loved dishes of Korean people, Japchae is made of glass noodles with sesame oil, beef, mushrooms, and a range of vegetables stir in to make it more delicious and colorful. These glass noodles are made with sweet potato.

  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 ½ tablespoon of white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil

  • 8-ounces of sweet potato noodles
  • 4-ounces of beef
  • 6-ounces of spinach
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 mushrooms, stemmed and sliced
  • 1 small carrot, cut into matchsticks

Method to Prepare:

  • Get a bowl and stir in sesame oil, sugar, soy sauce, and garlic and whisk until the sugar gets completely dissolved into the sauce.
  • Bring a large pot of water to boil with sweet potato noodles in it, stirring occasionally, and cook it for about 6 to 7 minutes. 
  • Transfer it to a bowl and drizzle the sauce and toss to coat it perfectly.
  • Get the beef and squeeze it until all the juice is clear and add 1 tablespoon of sauce in a bowl together.
  • Bring a pot of water to boil with spinach inside it and boil it for about 1minute. Now, put it in a cold water bowl to stop the cooking process and drain it completely.
  • Add salt and black pepper to season the spinach. 
  • Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a skillet and add onion in it and cook it for about 2 minutes. Transfer the onion in the spinach bowl.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of oil in the same skillet and throw mushrooms and cook it for 2 minutes. Similarly, cook carrots. 
  • Now, heat the beef and add the onion-spinach mixture in it and heat it for 2 minutes. Now, stir in the noodles and heat for more than 2 minutes and serve it hot!

Kimchi

The first cuisine that comes into any food lover’s mind when talking about Korean recipes will be this traditional dish called Kimchi.   • 1 cup Kimchi cabbage, fermented and chopped into bite-size
  • ½ teaspoon of sesame oil

  • Heat a nonstick skillet to medium heat and add the Kimchi cabbage in it. 
  • Sauté it until it is fragrant and slightly yellowish, for about 5 to 6 minutes.

  • Now, stir in vinegar to coat the bottom of the skillet and increase the heat to bring the vinegar to boil.
  • Add sugar and slow the heat to low and cook until the sugar is completely dissolved and Kimchi is brown.
