Ingredients 

For Marination

Two tablespoon yogurt (curd)

1/2 teaspoon powdered turmeric

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

Other Ingredients 

  • 250 gm washed & dried, chopped chicken
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Two clove
  • One large finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • One teaspoon of cumin powder
  • Five soaked cashews
  • Six curry leaves
  • Two tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 1/2 large chopped tomato
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon powdered black pepper
  • One tablespoon milk
  • One small lemon wedge 
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley
  • One handful of coriander leaves

Method to Prepare 

  • Take a glass bowl and add chopped chicken pieces to it. Then, add curd, chili powder, turmeric, and salt.
  • Mix all the ingredients with your hands and marinate the chicken. The longer you let the chicken marinate, the better the taste. 
  • Then, add soaked cashews and some milk to a grinder and paste. Once it is done, keep it aside. 
  • Now, take a deep saucepan and add oil to it. Heat it over moderate heat. 
  • Once the oil is hot enough, throw the chopped onions and saute them until they are pinkish. 
  • Add ginger-garlic paste to the pan and keep cooking on medium heat. Then sprinkle coriander powder, black pepper powder, and cumin powder. 
  • Give it a good stir. 
  • After a few seconds, add chopped tomatoes and let it cook for a further few minutes. 
  • Once you see the oil separating, turn off the flame and let the mixture cool. 
  • After it is cool, grind the mixture and keep them aside. 
  • Now, add the remaining oil in the same saucepan and curry leaves. Temper them for a few seconds, and then add marinated chicken pieces. 
  • Cover the pan and let it cook for approx 6 minutes. 
  • Now, add ground spices along with the milk and cashew paste. Give it a good stir and cook for around 5 minutes. 
  • After 5 minutes, add blended gravy. If the gravy is too thick for you, add water as your favored consistency. 
  • Cover the pan with a lid again and cook it until the chicken pieces are tender. Add salt. 
  • Once it is done, transfer the prepped chicken to a serving bowl and garnish it with fresh coriander leaves, parsley, and lemon wedges.
