One of the most popular street foods in Greece, souvlaki is one of the tastiest Greek food delicacies you will ever try! Souvlaki is stuffed with deliciously marinated and seasoned meat and then garnished with tzatziki sauce, and then wrapped in a crispy pita to provide you a toothsome dish!

According to food historians, there is a piece of evidence that suggests that souvlaki-like dishes existed in Greece as early as the 17th Century BCE. On the island of Santorini, stone tools similar to modern-day barbecue skewers were found to fuel the debate of this dish’s history.
