Pav Bhaji Recipe

 Ingredients 

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup peas/matar
  • ½ capsicum, finely chopped
  • 2 potatoes, boiled & mashed, 
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ¼ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric/Haldi
  • 1 ½ tsp pav bhaji masala
  • 2 tsp Kasuri methi/dry fenugreek leaves
  • 3 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • ½ lemon juice
  • water to adjust consistency

To toast pav:

  • 8 pav/bread roll
  • 4 tsp butter
  • ½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • ½ tsp pav bhaji masala
  • 4 tsp coriander leaves, finely chopped

Method to Prepare 

  • Firstly, take a large kadhai and heat one tablespoon of butter in it. 
  • Add all the vegetables to it and cook them until tender. Once they’re tender, carefully mash the veggies with the help of a potato masher. 
  • Then, add 1 teaspoon of chili powder, ¼ teaspoon of turmeric, 1 teaspoon of pav bhaji masala, 1 teaspoon of Kasuri methi, and 2 tablespoons of coriander leaves. 
  • Now, take another skillet and heat one tablespoon of butter, and add ¼ teaspoon of chili powder, ½ teaspoon of pav bhaji masala, and 1 teaspoon of Kasuri methi. 
  • Additionally, throw in 1 tablespoon of coriander leaves, 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste, 1 onion, and ½ lime juice. 
  • Add the veggies to it and saute everything. 
  • Boil and mash for 5 more minutes to adjust the consistency. 
  • Your pav bhaji is ready. Serve it warm with pav and enjoy!
