Ingredients 

  • 1 kilograms chicken
  • One tablespoon of garlic paste
  • salt as required
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • One tablespoon garam masala powder
  • Two tablespoons of mustard oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • One tablespoon of ginger paste
  • Two teaspoons of red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • Two teaspoon coriander powder
  • Two tablespoons of lime juice
  • 1 cup yogurt (curd)
  • One tablespoon of kasoori methi powder

Method to Prepare 

  • First, take chicken, wash it nicely and pat dry it. Then, cut the chicken into pieces. You can also buy already cut chicken from the market. Just ensure that you wash it well. 
  • Then, we will prepare the tandoori chicken marinade. 
  • Take a large bowl and mix yogurt, lime juice, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, black pepper powder, coriander powder, garam masala, crushed kasoori methi, oil, and salt. 
  • Add chicken pieces to this marinade and coat very well. Slide it into the fridge for at least 8 to 10 hours of marination. This long marination is essential for great flavors.  
  • After 8 hours, take the marinated chicken out and let it sit at room temperature before you proceed with the steps. 
  • Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  • Then, take a baking tray and line it with aluminum foil to prepare for the roasting session. 
  • On top of that, add a drip tray on top of this baking tray. 
  • Put the marinated chicken on this tray and sprinkle the pieces with a bit of cornflour. 
  • Slide the tray into the oven and bake it for around 40 to 45 minutes. Halfway, turn the chicken pieces for even cooking. 
  • Once the chicken is cooked, switch off the oven and take the baking tray out of the oven to check the tandoori chicken. Your chicken pieces will be crispy. 
  • Slide the tandoori chicken back into the oven for further 10 minutes. 
  • Your tandoori chicken is ready. Serve it with green chutney, and enjoy!
