Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 1 hour 15 minutes

Servings: 10 people

Ingredients

  • 4-pound bone-in fully cooked ham,
  • Half cup pineapple juice
  • Half cup water
  • one teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Half cup unsalted butter
  • Half cup brown sugar
  • 3 to 4 ground cloves
  • Half cup maple syrup
  • one tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Two cloves smashed garlic cloves

Method to Prepare

  • Begin your preparation by preheating the oven at 300°F and arranging a rack in the lower third. Remove plastic packaging from the ham.
  • Trim away the rind from the ham and set it aside to rest at room temperature for a couple of hours.
  • Meanwhile, line a baking tray with several sheets of parchment paper for easy cleaning.
  • Now, remove the skin of the ham without trimming the fat. Use a sharp knife and score a diamond pattern over the entire ham.
  • Then, place the ham in the baking tray and pour some pine juice and water into the base of the pan.
  • Cover the ham with two pieces of parchment paper and bake for half an hour.
  • While your ham is in the oven, heat butter in a small-sized saucepan over medium flame until it is golden.
  • Then, throw brown sugar, maple syrup, mustard, cinnamon, and cloves into the melted butter.
  • Give it a good stir and mix until the brown sugar is completely dissolved, for about 2 minutes.
  • Decrease the flame to low and garlic. Bring it to a simmer, and then set it aside to let it cool down to lukewarm.
  • Remove the ham from the oven after 15 minutes. Meanwhile, increase the temperature to 425°F.
  • Uncover the ham and pour ⅓ of the prepared glaze all over the ham. Ensure that you brush the glaze between the cuts too.
  • Then, slide the ham back into the oven and bake it uncovered for another 15 minutes.
  • Once it is done, remove it from the oven, brush with the remaining glaze and some pan juices.
  • Slide it back again in the oven for another 15 minutes, baking it until a dark golden-brown crust has formed.
  • Remove it from the oven after 15 minutes and let it rest for around 20 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice them and enjoy this delicious recipe!
