Ingredients:

  • 5 to 6 hard-boiled eggs, cooled and peeled a little
  • Flour to roll the eggs
  • 2 cups of meat, minced
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic paste
  • ½ teaspoon of ginger paste
  • ¼ teaspoon of black pepper, powdered
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon of garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped ginger
  • chopped garlic 1 tablespoon
  • 1 ½ cup of roughly chopped onions, boiled very little
  • 1 cup of oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoons of black cumin seeds
  • 6 to 7 cloves, roasted and powdered
  • 1 teaspoon of brown cinnamon, roasted and powdered
  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons of coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1 cup of chopped tomatoes
  • Large pinch of Kesar
  • 2 tablespoons of warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons of cream
  • Coriander leaves, for garnishing

Method to Prepare:

  • Divide the meat mixture into 5 to 6 portions and shape each into a round pattie. Roll the eggs in the flour and dust the excess flour and put these eggs in the middle of the patties.
  • Cover the eggs by bringing the meat around it properly and smooth the surface. Refrigerate these patties for at least an hour.
  • Take a skillet or kadhai and heat some of the oil with the listed ingredients for gravy and fry koftas in it.
  • Fry them on high heat and then lower the heat so the koftas can be cooked perfectly. Take them out and put them aside when they are evenly brown.
  • Now, for the gravy, grind the ginger, garlic, and boiled onions to a fine paste and set it aside.
  • Take the remaining oil and heat into a saucepan and add bay leaves and powdered spices into it.  
  • When the spices become brown, add the onion mixture and stir fry it until it is brown and fat separates.
  • Now, add tomatoes, chili powder, coriander powder, and turmeric, and stir fry it again till the fat separates.
  • Add two cups of water and bring to a boil for about 10 minutes and add milk and saffron.
  • Now, cut your koftas lengthwise and arrange them on a serving dish.
  • Pour the delicious and hot gravy all over it and drizzle some cream on it.
  • Garnish it with the coriander leaves and enjoy the richness of this recipe!
