Method to Prepare:

  • First of all, arrange a rack in the oven and heat it for 350F.
  • If you want deeper coconut flavor and extra crispiness, spread the shredded coconuts on a rimmed baking sheet and toast them until they show color, for about 5 minutes. Set aside before using it.
  • Take a large bowl and add egg whites, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  • Whisk it until egg and sugar are combined and the mixture is fizzy and bubbly.
  • Now, combine coconut and egg mixture and stir until the coconut is evenly drenched and moistened in the mix.
  • Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat and, with wet hands, shape the coconut mixture into small balls.
  • Put them an inch or apart on the baking sheet and put the tray in the oven.
  • Now, bake the macaroons for 10 to 15 minutes as they will give you golden-brown colors.
  •  Hold yourself! Let these macaroons cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet and then let them cool completely.

Recipe Notes:

  • If you want macaroons to be crispier and lighter, add more coconut in the mixture.
  • If you want meringue-like macaroons, whisk every ingredient gradually with a standing mixture. First, whisk eggs then slowly add sugar, vanilla, and salt and then add coconut by hand.
  • If you want to increase the size macaroons, bake them for a longer period, and small macaroons, bake them for a short time.
  • You can drizzle the baked macaroons with melted chocolate or fold up a whole bowl of dried fruits into the mixture for variations.
  • You can store macaroons for 1 week in an air-tight container.
