It is a snack recipe that is filled with chicken and fried until golden and crispy. It is the same as making normal samosa, the sole difference is that we are using chicken instead of potatoes. Minced chicken or chicken kheema are two of the most popular filling that is used to make these samosas. 

You may wonder why you make samosas at home when you can buy them from the supermarket. Well, nothing can beat the taste of homemade chicken samosa. Plus, samosas that are sold in stores or served in restaurants are full of overcooked spices and the pasty is either tasteless or soggy. 

To avoid all these, we are here to help you with a simple yet delicious chicken samosa recipe. Although this recipe is effortless, it does not mean that the flavors are compromised. It is as delicious and easy as our Punjabi Samosa recipe, which is an aloo-based samosa.

Ingredients 

To make The filling

  • 200 gms Chicken Boneless
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin/ jeera
  • 1 large Onion Sliced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Curry masala powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • handful coriander leaves
  • Oil for deep frying

To make Dough

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour / Maida
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • as per taste Salt
  • Water to knead

Method to Prepare 

  • Firstly, let’s make the chicken filling. 
  • Add chicken pieces to the pressure cooker with salt. Pressure cook it for 3 whistles. 
  • Once the pressure is released on its own, take the chicken pieces and chop them into small pieces. Keep it aside. 
  • Add oil to a pan and heat it. Add cumin and wait. Once it splutters, add sliced onion and saute it till the onion turns translucent. 
  • Then, add ginger garlic paste and saute it till the raw smell is eliminated. 
  • Now, add all the spices and powders and mix well. Finally, add the chopped chicken pieces and mix well with the masala. 
  • Sprinkle coriander leaves and switch off the flame and let it cool for some time. 
  • Now, let’s make the pastry. 
  • Take a large mixing bowl and one cup of all-purpose flour and salt and mix well. 
  • Then, add two tablespoons of oil or ghee and rub it well with the flour. 
  • Slowly pour water and knead a smooth dough. Cover it and let it rest for 10 minutes. 
  • Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan for deep frying. 
  • Pinch small size dough balls and roll them into a circle. 
  • Cut them into two parts and apply water to the edges to join them to make a cone. 
  • Take one tablespoon of chicken filling and fill the cones. Again, apply the water and seal the edges. 
  • Repeat the same process until the dough and filling are finished.  
  • Carefully, drop the samosas one by one into the oil and fry them over medium heat. 
  • Flip it and fry until the samosa is golden. Repeat the process until all samosas are fried.  
  • Serve them hot with your favorite chutney and enjoy!
